Fran relocated with her family from Vanderhoof, BC in 2010. Her background is in Management, Finance and Human Resources. Facilitating Small Business start-up and finance workshops are also a few of her specialty’s.
Fran has been with Community Futures Nicola Valley since arriving to Merritt in 2010. She started out as the Finance Controller and Administrative Coordinator. Fran was then promoted to General Manager in 2021. Fran brings extensive finance and management knowledge to her new position.
Fran is all about Community Connections and Mentorship. She loves to get involved with Community Events and help out in way she can, her door is always open!
Joe was born and raised here in the Nicola Valley, attending local school and then finding local work.
After twenty-eight years of residence here in Merritt and several years spent helping run a small business in the downtown, Joe is ecstatic to be a part of Community Futures and assist in their objectives. Watching Merritt grow and change has been exciting but being able to take part in shaping Merritt's future has been a dream come true.
Dwaine is back at CFNV after being a summer student for two years. He is working part time and job sharing with Resa while he continues his degree in Computer Science at Thompson Rivers University.
Born in raised in the Nicola Valley, Resa is CFNV's newest addition and will be job sharing with Dwaine. Currently, Resa is working towards completing her BBA majoring in Human Resources through TRU's Distance Learning. She is excited to work with the community and all of CFNV's clients to help shape the future of the Nicola Valley.
Meagan is the Owner of Preston Communications and Consulting located in Merritt, British Columbia. With over 20 years of corporate experience in business, she offers support services like marketing, communications, research projects, technical and grant writing as well as career, program, and business development strategies. Her well rounded background allows her to work with a variety of businesses requiring short term or contract support. Over the last several years Meagan has assisted and worked for organizations like WorkBC, Chamber of Commerce, Community Futures, and the Interior Logging Association, as well as assisting with multiple provincially and Not-For-Profit funded projects focused on business. She is currently working under contract for Community Futures Nicola Valley as the Program Ambassador for the Disaster Recovery Economic Adjustment Initiative (DREAI) and Taking Care of Business Program to assist Merritt businesses in further recovery efforts from the fires and floods of 2021.
